The University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) Medical School, Department of Pediatrics, seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position in its Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology. This research-focused position will be at the Assistant Professor rank on the Tenure-Track. The ideal candidate will be an MD/PhD physician scientist with basic or translational research expertise plus demonstrated academic productivity (peer-reviewed manuscripts and/or grant funding).
Candidates must be pediatric rheumatologists with the ability to provide care for children and adolescents with rheumatic diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Candidates for the position must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology and board certified in General Pediatrics.
The individual who is hired into the position will become a core faculty member of University of Minnesota’s world-renowned Center for Immunology. Laboratory space in the Center for Immunology and a competitive start-up package are included. The Center for Immunology and the University of Minnesota Medical School provide a collaborative research environment that is well-suited to the mentorship and advancement of physician scientists. About the Department:
The Department of Pediatrics is a thriving academic department with over 100 full-time faculty and ranks in the top 10 nationally in NIH funding. Children are cared for at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, opened in 2011. The University of Minnesota campus is on the shores of the Mississippi River and the city of Minneapolis, a short distance away from St. Paul. Both cities have rich history, high standards of livability, outstanding schools, culinary delights, numerous cultural events, and all major professional sports. Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and Pediatric Rheumatology fellowship training programs
Board certified in Pediatrics. Board eligible/certified in Pediatric Rheumatology
Must have demonstrated involvement in clinical or basic science research through publications anticipated or published in peer-reviewed journals
Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota

Exception team player skills and priority of patient service
