The Rheumatology department is seeking for highly motivated Patient Service Representative II. In this position, you will support highly respected physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of health care by performing a broad range of administrative and patient-focused tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient office workflow.
Rheumatology Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center comprises as a multidisciplinary team of experts, including rheumatologists, sports medicine specialists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, research scientists and other health professionals.
What will you be doing in this role?
The incumbent is expected to follow established practices, policies, and guidelines and provides clerical and administrative support duties in the Rheumatology clinic.
These responsibilities include:
Answering and triaging calls - directing to appropriate individuals or departments
Scheduling and authorizing appointments
Assisting with diagnostic tests and ancillary services
Perform insurance authorization and verification functions
Patient check in/out duties
Re-scheduling follow-up appointments
Medical record preparation and scanning
Processing referral work queue
Retrieves information from files as requested
Assembles documents and reference material as requested by physicians, nurses, and patients
Follows CSMC and HIPAA confidentiality guidelines while performing all duties
Other duties as assigned
The PSR will apply a detailed knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility, and a general knowledge of the ambulatory/outpatient setting and its interrelation with the larger Health System. He/She ensures the timely completion of work assignments in accord with established timelines.
