Department Description The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine, with 9 divisions divided by sub-specialty, including Rheumatology, Allergy & Clinical Immunology. Our Division features special-emphasis panels in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. One clinic is dedicated to evaluation, therapy and rehabilitation of the unique problems faced by musicians such as overuse syndromes and tendonitis. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities Under the supervision of Rheumatology physicians, the Nurse Practitioner will evaluate and manage patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases. This Nurse Practitioner will have outpatient clinic at the Ambulatory Care Center in Sacramento and in the Primary Care Clinic Network. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for patient assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions and monitoring of laboratory tests. The Nurse practitioner will perform administrative work such as triaging urgent requests, referrals, patient phone calls, interpretation of results, etc. The Nurse practitioner will collaborate with the infusion center and pharmacy. The individual will serve as educational liaison for patients. Required
At least one year NP experience
Graduation with a Master's degree, DNP or PhD in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing.
Possession of valid California RN and Nurse Practitioner license.
DEA Certification within 3 months of hire
Acute Care or FNP National Board Certified
Current American Heart Association CPR, BLS and ACLS
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Knowledge of current trends in nursing.

Knowledge of legal implications in clinical practice and documentation.

One year or greater recent clinical experience in Rheumatology.
Ability to meet minimum standards for hospital credentialing and billing standards as a billable provider
