Advertised Summary Job Description: The Division of Rheumatology seeks a Technician B to provide support for support for the Columbia University Lupus Clinical Research group, a premier lupus clinical research organization. The technician will support the research coordinators, PI, and research clinical manager in conducting clinical trials, NIH and/or industry-sponsored, that focus on the discovery of novel drug targets in rheumatology. The technician will report to and be supervised by the study PI and Clinical Research Manager.
The technician will assist with the identification, screening and assessment of potential subjects for studies. Assist with data preparation and study file maintenance. The technician supports the PI in obtaining informed consent, ordering pre-randomization tests and ordering study drugs. Assists in assuring compliance and study protocol and maintaining case report forms. Responsible for data retrieval and entry from study site; assists PI with ongoing reports. Performs other duties as assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Requires bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo drug screening prior to a final offer of employment being made.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Close attention to detail as well as solid verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database system required.
