The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a pediatric rheumatologist at the rank of Associate (non-track), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (tenure or non-tenure/clinical track). The individual selected will join the Division of Rheumatology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a rheumatologist.

The U.S. News and World Report research ranking places the College 13th among public institutions for 2018, and the Stead Family Department of Pediatrics ranked 27th overall and 13th in NIH funding among all public pediatric departments nationwide in FY17. The ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program at the Children's Hospital trains 47 pediatric residents.
The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics comprises the medical and research staff of UI Stead Family Children's Hospital. University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital is one of the nation's top-ranked pediatric care and research institutions. It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa's only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2016-17 University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital ranked in eight pediatric specialties in the Best Children's Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children's care. A new 189-bed children's hospital opened in February 2017.
