The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is recruiting a board certified/eligible pediatric rheumatologist. The recruit will join 5 other pediatric rheumatologists in a busy academic practice that includes a fellowship program and combined conferences with our adult rheumatology colleagues. Faculty appointments and salary will be commensurate with an individual’s level of expertise and experience (including appointments as an assistant, associate, or full professor at the Penn State College of Medicine.) The Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital is the sole tertiary care pediatric center in South Central Pennsylvania, serving a pediatric population of approximately 1 million children. All pediatric and surgical subspecialties are represented in our relatively new (2013) and free-standing Children’s Hospital. This facility is the primary pediatric training site for the Penn State University Hershey College of Medicine, which is located on the same medical campus. There are multiple opportunities for collaborative basic and clinical research available throughout the institution as well as an excellent Junior Faculty Development Program, to assist young faculty in establishing their academic careers.Hershey is a thriving suburban community in a metropolitan area of 400,000 in one of the fastest growing areas of the state.
