The Research Assistant willperform experiments, record data, maintain a laboratory notebook, analyze data,read scientific papers, and interacts with other laboratory personnel withinthe Medicine-Rheumatology Department in a group approach to address scientificquestions.
Performs laboratory experiments including cellular assays,molecular biology experiments, protein chemistry assays, mouse models ofdisease, and maintains the breeding program for some mouse strains.
Meets with laboratory PI and the laboratory personnel on aregular basis to discuss experimental results and future experimental plans.
Collaborates with team members, current laboratorypersonnel, and with the research group in designing new experiments and focusingon new research directions when applicable.
Uses computers, maintains a research notebook, and recordsdaily notes on experiments performed.
Collects data from experiments and performs routine dataanalyses through the generation of charts, graphs, and tables.
Attends laboratory and research group dataconferences. Completes all applicable training in a timely manner.
Orders supplies required by PI or research personnel toconduct their work.
